Anything Goes Saturdays with DJ Redds
If you’ve never heard Anything Goes Saturdays, our YouTube channel (search “DJ Redds” on YouTube) provides a great introduction to what the show is about. You might want to start there. After a few videos, we’re sure you’ll figure it out. Or, if you’re looking for a written introduction, here goes: One of our problems from the start has been that when we try to describe Anything Goes Saturdays in a sentence or two, it just sounds awful. For instance: each week DJ Redds chooses an array of songs to play while interacting with his listeners via Facebook, text, and other social media outlets on whatever topic is up for discussion. That doesn’t sound like something we’d want to listen to on the radio, and it’s our show.
So usually we just say what we’re not. We’re not a news show or a talk show or a call-in show. We’re not really formatted like other radio shows at all. Instead, we do music, music, and more music. Reggae, Hip Hop, RNB, Afrobeat, Lover’s Rock, you name it DJ Redds plays it. There are moments when we have featured artists LIVE in studio for song premiers and/or interviews. There are sponsored segments where really “anything goes” because it is completely out of DJ Redds’ hands what plays…and the fans LOVE it. Whatever is done or however format it’s done in has one ultimate goal, and that is to entertain our listeners. After a long work week, they tune in every Saturday from 4-6pm EST for some musical therapy a la DJ Redds.
Anything Goes Saturdays started in 2010 in Atlanta on www.ReggaeVibesRadio.com, Due to DJ Redds popularity as one of the Reggae community most sought after celebrity DJs, over the years the show has hosted many artists in studio and via satellite.
The program is produced by DJ Redds Management and airs world wide on Reggae Vibes Radio and Power 102.1FM every Saturday from 4-6pm EST.
